## How It Works

1. Open https://voicecalculator.app or the iOS app and press the microphone.
2. Say the calculation the way you would say it to a person. No operators, no
   syntax, no wake word.
3. The recognised text appears above the answer, so a misheard number is
   visible rather than silent. If it is wrong, retype that line in the input
   box instead of starting over.
4. In the browser, the last few results stay listed under the calculator for
   the rest of the session. Nothing is uploaded, synced or saved to an account.
5. In the iOS app with the AI unlock, a question phrased as a sentence comes
   back with the intermediate steps, not only the final number.

The browser calculator can key each of those steps individually — "3.99 ÷ 10",
"85 × 1.15", "8% of 38.97" — but it does not read the sentence. When it cannot
parse a question it says so and points at the app instead of guessing.

## Limitations

Written from real App Store reviews and from the product's own behaviour.

- **Spoken numbers can come back as words.** Some device speech recognisers
  write "three" instead of "3", and the parser then fails on the line. The
  recognised text is shown above the answer so this is visible; retyping the
  line is the workaround.
- **Decimals and separators can be misheard.** A spoken "1207.03" has been
  reported as "1000 207.3". Check the recognised text before trusting a total.
- **A trailing percentage is literal.** "12.99 × 3 + 8%" returns 39.05, because
  8% is read as 0.08, not as "add 8 percent of the running total". Ask for
  "8% of 38.97" instead, or use the AI in the iOS app.
- **Polish and Ukrainian have no spoken-number vocabulary yet.** Both locales
  ship, and digits and symbols evaluate ("35 × 12", "20% × 80"), but number
  words dictated in those languages do not parse.
- **The iOS microphone is started and stopped by hand.** There is no
  end-of-speech detection; several reviewers have asked for one.
- **No printing or export** of an entry/result list.
- **No Android or Windows build**, and no macOS app — the browser version is
  the answer on those platforms.
- **Browser history is per-session.** The last few results stay on screen; they
  are not saved, synced or recoverable after a reload.
- **The AI features need a connection.** Typed arithmetic in the browser keeps
  working once the page has loaded, but interpretation does not.
- **Not a CAS.** No graphing, no symbolic algebra, no proofs.

- Speech recognition is performed by the user's own device or browser. Audio is
